The construction of the confectionery plant in Opava took place in two phases between 1994 and 1998 and between 2013 and 2015. After the implementation of the first phase, the Opavia plant with a production capacity of 57,000 tonnes of confectionery (wafers, biscuits and chocolate products) employed over 1,300 employees annually on a plot of over 7 hectares. In the second phase, the plant was expanded to a capacity of up to 230 000 tonnes of confectionery per year. The expansion of the plant thus provided approximately 750 new jobs. For the first phase LOXIA provided comprehensive services of architect and general designer, prepared project documentation from the urban study, architectural study, through the phase of planning and building permits, and tender documentation, including the author's supervision and assistance with the occupation permit. For the second phase LOXIA provided comprehensive services of architect and general designer, prepared project documentation from the urban study, architectural study, through the phase of planning and building permits, and tender documentation, including the author's supervision and assistance with the occupation permit.
